RHCA Job Description - President
The position of president is not as daunting as some may think. There is no educational requirement. You will act as the leader of the association, coordinate activities and ensure that the objectives of the association are carried out. The time commitment for this position is slightly heavier than other positions. I estimate 3 hours per week average with very little work in the summer.
Responsibilities
- Preside and run the meetings of the executive and AGM
- Prepare the agenda for each meeting
- Ensure meetings run smoothly and quickly in a positive manner
- Appoint a member of the executive to act in his/her capacity in the absence of the president and vice president
- Has signing authority for all payments made by the association and for all legal papers and contracts
- Ensure all executive members carry out their assigned responsibilities and duties
- Act on the community association's behalf (in matters pertaining to the association) to various agencies, government and outside functions
- Volunteer recruitment
