RHCA Job Description - Treasurer
Responsibilities
- Attend all community association board meetings as voting member
- Maintain the association's financial accounts
- Report on the association's financial status
- Generate the yearly budget and present it for approval at the Annual General Meeting
- Signing authority for cheques drawn on association accounts
- Reimburse executive members for approved expenses
- Receive and bank income from programs, events, and government grants
- Send invoices to newsletter advertisers
- Pay approved invoices
- Issue approved refunds
- Generate and submit the annual tax return
Requirements and Useful skills
- Computer (Windows operating system)
- Printer (8.5in x 11in B&W)
- High-speed Internet connection
- Software applications for Word processing, Spreadsheet, Email, and Accounting (QuickBooks for Windows is supplied by the RHCA)
- Computer skills (Word processing, Spreadsheet, Email, Accounting)
- Accounting skills are an asset but not required
- Organization
- Commitment
