2010-06-03 - The River Heights Community Association is looking for instructors for a variety of indoor programs that run throughout the year. We're looking for people who have skills or hobbies that they're willing to teach to others. Sports, cooking classes, arts and crafts, music - we have room for both volunteer and paid instructors in a variety of areas. The River Heights Community Association needs someone to take over the position of President (see job description). A.      CITY OF SASKATOON SUMMER PROGRAMMING COMING TO A CLOSE

As the end of August approaches, the City of Saskatoon summer programming is coming to a close:


 *   All Spray Parks will be closed for the season after Wednesday, September 1; and,
 *   Kinsmen Park Rides will be closed for the season after Monday, September 6.
Thank you to all residents who used the City of Saskatoon summer facilities.
Parents - If your child has been collecting Saskatoon Kids Club vouchers this summer, please remember that the deadline to enter voucher
codes online is September 6.  You will be notified by email before September 30 with your final point total and instructions on collecting
prizes.  Also, let us know what you think about the Saskatoon Kids Club by completing the online survey at http://www.saskatoon.ca
(look under 'S' for Saskatoon Kids Club) and be entered into a draw for a one-month Family LeisureCard!

2010-08-31 The Prairie Outlaws Senior Hockey Club will be running a 2 day skills development camp for kids ages 7-17. This is a great opportunity for youth to learn and practice Fundamental Skills which are essential to the game of hockey. Come out and learn from Outlaw Coaches and Players. Many of our instructors have played at the Junior A/College University level as well some have played at the Professional and WHL levels. 2010-08-05 Recycling Options Information - The City is examining current level of services for recycling in Saskatoon. This PDF newsletter (4.58MB) outlines options for recycling programs in Saskatoon. Free printed copies are available at City Hall, all civic leisure centers, libraries, and Saskatoon SARCAN locations. Input can be shared through the following ways:
- www.saskatoon.ca , click "R" for recycling, then scroll down and click "Let's Talk Recycling" to take the online survey.
- Call 975-7506 or email to recycling@saskatoon.ca with any questions/comments about the newsletter or the City's process for examining recycling programs in Saskatoon.
It is very important that all residents contribute to this process. Everyone's comments and input are needed to determine what recycling program best works for people who live, work and raise families in Saskatoon.

2010-08-09 - The Saskatoon Cricket Association is interested in encouraging youth to learn and play cricket in Saskatoon. They are involved in skill development and coaching through their Youth Academy. Saskatoon Cricket Club provides volunteers to teach this game to youth. 2010-08-05 - The Children's Wish Foundation is having their 6th Annual Wishmaker Walk for Wishes in Saskatoon at Victoria School, on Oct. 16th. The walk is very family oriented and encourages participants to collect pledges to help raise money for the Children's Wish Foundation. All money raised will go toward granting the wishes of children coping with high risk, life threatening illnesses.(283KB PDF)
2010-07-18 - Registration for Scouts, Cubs and Beavers will be held Wednesday, September 8/2010 from 7:00-9:00 at the Silverwood Heights School in the library. Boys and girls ages 5-17 years are welcome to attend with their parents to find out about our programs for the 2010-11 season. Our Beavers ages 5-7 meet Wed. nights at St Angela School and the Cubs ages 8-10 meet Thurs. nights also at St. Angela School. The Scouts ages 11-14 and Ventures ages 14-17 both meet on Tues. night at St. George School. For more information please contact Linda Lund at 384-1389 or linda.l@sasktel.net.
2010-06-11 - For the past 30 years, from Abbey to Yorkton and almost everywhere in between, the people of Saskatchewan have carried on the legacy of a true Canadian hero: Terry Fox. Through the annual Terry Fox Run, thousands of dedicated volunteers have called upon our schools and our communities to join together in raising money for cancer research, and to fuel an unrelenting hope that - one day - we will find a cure. This year, the Terry Fox Run is scheduled nationwide for Sunday, September 19. Registration will begin 11:00 a.m., while the Run itself starts at noon. All activities will be based out of the Vimy Memorial Bandshell at Kiwanis Park..
